What is Yaoi/Yuri?

Don't be embarassed if you don't know. The truth is, I didn't even know until I started writing it. Anyway, yaoi and shounen ai ("boy's love") are the Japanese terms for a story involving two men being intimate. Homosexuality, people. ^_^ (In Western fanfiction it's called "Slash".) Yuri is the same thing but involving two females. Make sense? Some people take these terms to mean that there must be sexual acts involved in the writing. *sweats bullets* Ano... I don't think I'd ever be able to work up the courage to actually write a lemon, so you won't find anything that explicit in the fics. They're all rated R or under - and the R is usually for extreme violence/angst/language as opposed to extreme sexual situations. (A sad commentary on our society that I write deathfics and angstfics easier than lovefics, ne? My father would be so disappointed. *sweats at that last sentence* OK, and accompanying that, an image I really didn't need. O_O Stopping now...)
